Vibrant Drapes & A Jupe Table

After a devastating fire this dining room went from ashes to bright and vibrant with custom floral draperies and colorful art. A very special Jupe table gave the clients extra space in the easiest way.

Project Overview:

During the rebuild we were able to remove a door to the outside that never got used and make the room more functional and practical. Bold floral silk drapery panels are the star of the show with support from the colorful floral artwork and the turquoise interior of the bar cabinet. All else was kept in light grey for a calm elegant feel.

It was important to Kathy’s client that when family pops in, it would take just a moment to change the table setup. Kathy found this Jupe table with it’s function and beauty, going from an intimate setting for four, expanding for a larger gathering in a flash, and with no leaves to store!

Vibrant Drapes & A Jupe Table

The ingenious Jupe table butterfly extension mechanism was designed and patented by cabinetmaker Robert Jupe in 1835 and allowed the table to effortlessly expand, with self-contained leaves that manually slide out and unfold, at that time unheard of.

See how this historically designed Jupe table opens up and stores the table leaves.
