Franchise Owner of the Year

It was no surprise to learn that the 51st Decorating Den Interiors Annual Conference was held as a Zoom presentation and it didn’t dampen anyone’s enthusiasm. This year has been especially rewarding for Kathy McGroarty as she has been the recipient of multiple awards including the top award presented each year of Franchise Owner of the Year.

Kathy’s awards this year include:

  • Franchise Owner of the Year
  • Pinnacle Award for 2019 #11 in sales worldwide
  • Prism Award for cummulative top sales

Celebrating over Zoom later with a bottle of champagne, Kathy said later “it was only when they showed a photo of me as a kid that I realized they were talking about me!”

It has taken nine years from when Kathy purchased her franchise to today, honored with the highest award given to franchise owners at Decorating Den Interiors — awarded Franchise Owner of the Year.

“Kathy has been in business since 2011, has consistently been among our leaders in retail sales, and has won design awards,” said James S. Bugg, Jr., president and CEO. “Her regard among our franchisees is exemplified in her recently having been elected as chair of our DDI Leadership Council, which advises our executive team on policies and programs that support their interior design businesses.  Her exceptional dedication and service through cooperation with other franchise owners, suppliers and management are excellent examples of this award’s criteria.”

Chair of Leadership Council

Kathy was also recently elected chair of the Leadership Council of Decorating Den Interiors, which represents the 250 franchise owners throughout the U.S. and Canada. She is beginning her second three-year term on the council having been re-elected by fellow franchisees. Read the press release.

Regional Award 

At the time Kathy was part of the SE region of Pennsylvania who were awarded #2 Region for sales. Kathy moved her design studio to Delaware in 2022.
