Area design firm named Business of the Year
Easton, Md. — Kathy McGroarty, owner of the Decorating Den Interiors franchise in Lansdale, (https://kathymcgroarty.decoratingden.com) was named Franchise Owner of the Year, the highest award presented by Decorating Den Interiors, North America’s largest interior design and home furnishings franchise company.
“Kathy has been in business since 2011, has consistently been among our leaders in retail sales, and has won multiple design awards,” said James S. Bugg, Jr., president and CEO. “Her regard among our franchisees is exemplified in her recently having been elected as Chair of our DDI Leadership Council, which advises our executive team on policies and programs that support their interior design businesses. Her exceptional dedication and service through cooperation with other franchise owners, suppliers and management are excellent examples of this award’s criteria.”
Bugg made the announcement during a special international video conference that replaced the company’s normal annual conference, which was not held because of the Covid19 Sheltering-in-Place. There were more than 200 participating online.
“I was thoroughly surprised and honored,” McGroarty said. “I am proud to be part of this wonderful company. I have had design and business opportunities I could not have had on my own. It is also a privilege to be able to help other franchise owners as they build their businesses.”
Decorating Den Interiors was founded in 1969 and has interior design professionals and decorators throughout the U.S. and Canada. “We offer our clients fine furniture, case goods, accessories, lighting, floor and wall coverings, draperies and other hard and soft window treatments,” McGroarty explains. “We bring samples directly to the client’s home or office, provide complimentary design services and personally oversee projects through installation.”
