Organized Home Office

My clients were building a beautiful, new home filled with windows and abundant natural light throughout the home. Since the husband is an executive who occasionally works from home, and has clients stop by, a practical home office was a must. Also, as told by his wife, he can be messy so something with closed doors for his clutter was needed. The Mrs. often uses the office as well, and prefers a more open writing type of desk. The room was just studs when we started designing, and she could not image two desks in the room, let alone chairs for visitors.

I created a 3-D room design so the homeowners could envision the space as a practical, functioning office. We selected a custom, painted desk and hutch that were designed to the husbands’ specifications from a storage standpoint. A large writing desk was selected to suit the Mrs. Two club chairs from their old home were reupholstered in a small medallion print in shades of cream, brown, and blue, and fit perfectly in the space. Beautiful plaid fabric in shades of blue and tan were selected for the window treatments. A rug in coordinating shades of blue and tan anchors the room. Accessories were selected based on the husbands’ love of history, globes, maps, and Caesar Augustus.

My gift to the dog loving homeowners, the resting dog statue, keeps watch over the space.
